I am delighted to share that I bring with me 18 years of valuable academic and administrative experience, coupled with 36 years of expertise in Atmospheric Physics research, both in India and abroad. I am the principal author of over 200 publications, including more than 90 SCI journal articles. I have guided 16 Ph.Ds, 06 M.Phils, and seventy (M.Sc./M.Tech.) master’s theses, with 8 research scholars currently working towards a Doctor of Philosophy degree.Leveraging this extensive background, the honorable Vice-Chancellor of Yogi Vemana University has entrusted me with the role of full-time Director for the Center for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) at Yogi Vemana University. My tenure officially commenced on June 1, 2023. In this capacity, my responsibilities encompass overseeing programs offered in both Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode and Online mode, in strict accordance with the UGC (DEB) regulations of 2020.
The Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) at Yogi Vemana University, Kadapa, has been recognized by the Distance Education Bureau (DEB), UGC, New Delhi, to offer Postgraduate (PG) programs under open and distance learning (ODL) mode from the academic year 2023-24 onwards. The primary vision of this initiative is to provide quality education to all, transcending socio-economic, time, and age barriers, and to support learners and academic aspirants in skill development, higher education, and career advancement.
We are pleased to inform you that our faculty has prepared high-quality study materials in the form of Self-Learning Materials (SLMs) for students enrolled in the eight PG courses. These SLMs are available to students in e-format free of cost on the ‘cdoe.yvu.edu.in’ website, as well as in printed ISBN textbooks with copyrights. Additionally, this web platform has been utilized to streamline the entire process, including application and admission, fee payment, access to e-content, submission of internal assignments, issuance of roll numbers, online question papers, declaration of results, and online applications for re-evaluation and transcript issuance.
Furthermore, the CDOE is conducting Personal Contact Programme (PCP) classes, by well-qualified and dedicated faculty, at YVU’s campus on weekends. These PCP classes are designed to provide additional benefits and academic advancements to our students. To enhance the learning experience, the CDOE plans to leverage Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). Library facilities are also extended to our students.
All course syllabi are designed based on the National Education Policy (NEP-2020) under the Credit-Based Semester System (CBSS) pattern, adhering to the latest UGC guidelines for ODL courses. Additionally, the CDOE has incorporated internal assessments, constituting 30% of the total marks. Examinations are to be conducted transparently, following stringent quality control standards set by the University.
